BOLD

A spontaneous ‘stream of conscious’ scanner collage that symbolizes a personal tribute to the concept of ‘bold’. Each image holds a special meaning. For example, my ear represents learning to ‘listen with heart’. The one piece missing from this collage is a rock I carry with me at all times. It says ‘FREEDOM’. I have posted this image separately as it stands alone.

Whenever I hear the word “BOLD”; I think of Marianne Williamson’s moving excerpt from her book A RETURN TO LOVE. Nelson Mandela borrowed this for his inaugural speech.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of the Universe
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people will not feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
the Universe that is within us.

It is not just in some of us,
It is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

I am loving this, Royce! How very beautiful and so very interesting...each piece your wondrous collage tells a story and has an inner-prompting. What a marvelous and BOLD tribute to YOU! It's a feast for the eyes...and thank you for the Marianne Williamson quote -- Perfect. We must be bold enough to declare, embrace, and walk in our Magnificience! Thank you for leading the way!

oh yes! love the freedom stone...keep it close!

thanks, too, for the reminder from Marianne W. She's SO good at telling the truth. Another favorite from her is:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

makes me think of your freedom stone!

ok...sometimes i am amazed at where i take myself. obviously (to the left brain) that's the same quote you posted. apparently my right brain, or more likely my heart & soul, needed to say it to myself again. Maybe I should just go read it a couple more times! Shaking my head & smiling here.
